For the last 2 hours I have heard everyone at work commenting on how beautiful Farrah Fawcett was... how she just "invented beauty"...how she was the epitome of class, and how it's so hard to see such a beautiful creature wither away.
All of this is true, but...
For the last 2 hours I have also had to endure heartless comments about how good it is that Michael Jackson is dead. "Finally the world can have relief from him!" "Finally his kids can have a normal life." "I wouldn't be surprised if a U.F.O. came down to claim his body.. .hahahahhaha."
SHUT UP! I'm so SICK of it! It's as if every single person I work with wanted him to die. They are CELEBRATING IT! I can't understand how they refuse to see anything negative from his death! It's infuriating! I am so disappointed with the quality of their humanity; the idea that they can just brush a death off as a good thing just sickens me.
I will never look at them the same way again. A death is a death. Yes, he was weird, yes, Farrah was more beautiful, but was he worthless as a human being? Did he not give the world anything? I believe he gave music a hell of a lot that no one else had the creativity to give. It's as if everyone sees only the bad, and forgets all of his achievements in life. I just can't understand this. I don't get these people anymore.
I'm glad I'm changing jobs soon. At least that's something to look forward to.

Serious? I've been watching tv and it's been all mourning and sadness and shock over losing MJ. That's pretty sad that anyone would celebrate a person's death, no matter what you thought of them.
I'm sad about it. I think he was a tortured soul.
Amen Sister!
While I'm not really grieving the loss of MJ, I'm certainly not celebrating it either. I did enjoy his music and it's so much a part of my childhood especially. That's a bit sick on the part of your coworkers there...
So did you get the job then???
how sad... everyone i've seen or talked to all are so sad that he has passed away... i'm glad you're switching jobs... your coworkers don't seem to be very nice.
He was a brilliant musician and entertainer, nobody can argue that. His talent is what is going to be missed. He brought on all of his trouble by his own antics but that doesn't mean the world is a better place because he isn't here anymore, it just means we don't have his crazy antics anymore. His children are not better without him. Just because he was crazy to the public eye doens't mean he was crazy in his private life. So I have to say I am sad, not because I liked him as a person but because he was brilliant.
Did that make any sense whatsoever? I blame my insanity and incoherancy on pregnancy! :)
I'm not sure if I've gotten the job yet or not. I think they're doing a background check, so they may discover my true criminal ways soon and no longer wish to hire me. We'll see.
You work with a bunch of losers, man. MJ was pretty crazy but Thriller was freaking AWESOME. THAT is how I will always remember him. I will remember him as an awesome, great dancing and singing warewolf. Isn't that how we'd all like to be remembered really?
The fact that anyone would think that anyone dying is a time to celebrate show's that they are small minded morons. Was he weird, yes, but think about his children, and his mom, you never want to out live a child of yours. How offensive it is to me that they would say this. Do I condone any of his "alleged" bizarre behavior, but guess what folks we are not judge!!!
